Black Magic German Shepherds
           Kitty - Bacchus Puppies

Here's what our clients have to say about their
pups from Kitty and Bacchus:           (updated 4/11)
Just a note to say hello and hope you are having a wonderful new year!  We are enjoying Otis sooo much, he is truly a blessing to our household.  He is getting huge!  Everyone is impressed by his size for his age and we have a leonberger playmate who is about one month older that he is keeping pace with in size-no problem.  Not sure how much he weighs, but will stop by the vet and put him on the scale in the next couple of weeks and let you know.
He is doing great in advanced puppy class, but doesn't like it when I leave or give him to someone else!  The handler/trainer said he is super bonded to me and we both decided that was good!  He even obeys commands from my 4 year old daughter and they are becoming playmates more and more.
I have attached some pics of otis and one with his friend Tillie the giant schnauser.  Will send more, and hopefully better ones soon!

Dear Wendy,
It has been some time since my last email about Stella.  We have been so busy with dogs I just have not had a chance to write.
Stella is doing very well for a 6 month old puppy.  She had finished Star Puppy Class and will move on the Canine good Citizens class, she is ready to pass that class but the dog has to be over 12 months to take the test.
Stella is turning into a beautiful girl and when anyone meets Stella they are hooked.  I have been asked things like, what other breed is she mixed with,  why does she have such a fuzzy coat, to where did you get such a calm, loving Shepherd.
Stella was at the vets to get a Rabies shot the other day, my vet comes in, sits on the floor with Stella, Stella rolls over for a tummy rub and my vet looks me in the eye and says, you have the most wonderful Shepherd I have ever had the pleasure to meet, she says if she could be assured to have a dog like Stella she would want a Shepherd tomorrow and that I have a very special dog, of course I told her where she could get one. LOL
At her puppy classes people always come over to talk to Stella and give her big hugs, she draws people in like a magnet, I have raised and trained and shown lots of different breeds of dog in my life time and my Papillons also draw a lot of attention but nothing like Stella, her beauty draws them in and her loving personality keeps them coming back.
We take her every where we go, she goes into lots of businesses and sometimes it is hard for me to get shopping done.  Kids adore her, they come over and ask if they can pet her then they end up sitting on the floor with her, before we know it we have the parents over to see what this dog is all about.         Marion at Black Diamond Papillions

Sorry its been so long since we updated you on things, its been crazy here.  Duke is doing just fine.  He is up to about 92 lbs now and is amazing.  He is a wonderful dog and we just love him to death.  As you can imagine he loves being outdoors and is just wonderful when we take him anywhere.  He really enjoys his runs with Ehron or playing football at the local park.  We try and take him down to the beach at least once a week and to all the kids practices and games.  He is very well mannered around other people and dogs and just loves to play.  His training is going well and he is excellent on the leash with Ehron.  He still loves to chew on things like when the kids leave their toys or books out but for the most part he's really good.  He still loves laying on his back and having his tummy rubbed.  He gets up onto everyones bed and it is like having another person on it with you.  He is completely healthy and doing great.  He never tires and is always up for an activity.  I will send you more of an update soon and pictures to follow this week.
Take care,
Erik S. Baskin

OPIE update: I can't tell you how pleased we are with him. He is just a delightful puppy.....we never got one puppy bite/scratch or nick from him (we did from Ginger, the sweet Golden!)....he only gives kisses and gives them to anyone and everyone. He doesn't bark at our front gate and the other day just sat and watched some boys playing in the canyon next to our house.
He is really just want we wanted and I have to commend you on your ability to know your puppies at such a young age and to be able to pick the right one for us so very accurately. Truly amazing!  When I gave you my "laundry list" of qualities we were looking for in a GSD, I never imagined we would get everything we requested....right down to the "quiet dog".  Ginger and Opie still play silently in the backyard....they just adore each other and are both just the cutest puppies in the world (ok, well Sasha is pretty cute too but only because she looks just like Opie).:-)
Here's Bacchus doing some of the things he loves to do best:
Going fishing with dad, Brian.
Running errands with mom, Virg (going to the bank)
Going boating!
Bacchus camping at Silver Lake - wondering when everyone is getting up to go hiking!
This is from Mary and Greg, who have San Diego Sasha   (April 2011)
Sasha is 9 months old as I write this note; so hard to believe since it seems like yesterday she was a tiny pup!  She is now 71 lbs and so very beautiful; her fur color/markings seem to change weekly...
At the moment, we are getting a new roof put on the house and Sasha is extremely protective with all the workers about -- Amazing. Also she is handling the loud sounds without any barking -- she always amazes me! She is also keeping the cats company throughout all this construction, in fact she and the three cats are inseparable these days!  Of course, we work with her.... but she really isn't a barking type dog, she is now barking mostly when it's necessary--a stranger at the door, etc.

As I said in the previous paragraph -- Sasha, Bella, Alabaster, and Cinders are NOW A TRUE FAMILY!!  Sasha nudges and licks them on the face quite often in passing as well as attempting to play with tennis balls and cat nip mice together!  Sasha has the full run of the house when I'm gone for a short while and also at night; she only uses her crate when she decides on "her own" --- Sasha doesn't beg at the table and lays at our feet while we eat or sits in another room.   Her favorite time of day is being at my feet while I'm cooking in the kitchen.... she is the best company a person could ever want.... my Dear Sasha.
Her training has gone quite well; she's in the intermediate class on Sundays.  While walking, she remembers her training and her place the majority of the time -- as I said before, she's an amazing pup!  Sasha enjoys her big back yard; ball, freebie play and chewing on sticks and tree limbs.... I'm always puzzled by this, but Rachel did the same.  I'm told that Opie likes sticks, also.
In the morning she waits for the alarm to ring and she jumps up and licks Greg's face to awake him and waits until he's in the shower to come to my side of the bed to wake me in the same fashion.  I rise to feed the cats and she waits patiently to go out and then to have breakfast.  Then she sees
Greg off to work by sitting in the driveway and watching his car until it disappears around the corner.  In the eve, she waits for him to return, when the phone rings at 4:45 p.m. -- she sits at the backdoor waiting for her leash and then runs outside to greet him... Sasha seems more content if she has a job and this is one of many (she is always helping, to do laundry, etc.
Well -- I've gone on and on and probably have forgotten something else to
share -- I just can't say enough about her and how much we truly love Sasha
and at this point, we all would be lost without her!     Mary

Hi There: Thanks so much for the nice Christmas card...reminded me to get this photo to you.  Surely does not do him justice....he really is such a wonderful dog!  You picked a perfect puppy for us!  He is really huge-hard to believe that he is a puppy still!  Everyone who sees him says that he is the most beautiful German Shepherd they have ever seen, and his personality is just the best-gentle, playful and loving with the grandkids, but although he is VERY friendly, his size and the fact that he acts just enough reserved when "strangers" come onto the property to make someone think twice before getting out of their vehicle if they do not belong here...(which is what we wanted because we have a 45 acre farm in the "boonies")......Anyway, we just love him and cannot thank you enough....Take Care, Mark and Debra
Be sure to look at this pic of Rudy, he is sooo handsome!

Tobin and his dad Bacchus       on their
first camping trip together.
Duke is apparently very clever, also. Ehron and Erik wrote to tell me that Duke went missing one hot day this summer.  The little pic is where they finally found him, in a nice cold spot!
Jay, who hates to email but calls frequently, says his pup Bailey is the most wonderful dog in the world! He tells us that Bailey is the love of his life, and could not be any better. To quote Jay - he says Bailey has the softest coat you could ever imagine, he's "like a chinchilla !"   Apparently Bailey is a chick magnet as well.   ( I added that (wendy) cause I don't mind being PIC )
Grizzly - Life in Florida's not bad with a pool!
Merlot plays with Romeo in Colorado (she's the black and tan)
and with our Sasha on a play date.
New pics of Kitty pups below!  See pics of her grown pups here
Our Kitty puppy Merlot went to live in CO and is now called Bailey also.
Bacchus and his son Tobin on their first camping trip together. Tobin was fabulous - the most perfect 4
month old pup ever! They had a blast going hiking, riding in the boat and finally crashed out to sleep together.
Look at the size of Bacchus' head - he always amazes us. He is just a headhunter's dream. So masculine!
Jay's pup Bailey
How adorable is he?

Note:  Stella (below) is coming back to us and will be bred in 2012.  She is a gorgeous dog with a fabulous temperament!
