Cool Performance Horses

Sale Policy

    We offer horses for sale on a limited basis, usually 4-6 per year. All the horses offered by Cool Performance Horses (not referral horses) have been trained and ridden on trail by Wendy. These horses meet a set of rigid criteria. (see the "training" link above) We own these horses ourselves, they are not brokered. It is our feeling that if we don't like the horse enough to buy it then it won't be good enough for you.

    We also offer select horses that we have trained, or ridden in the past, that have become available for sale again. We are well-acquainted with these horses and can truthfully represent them.

    The horses that we have for sale are trained by us unless noted otherwise. They meet very well-defined standards of behaviour, and are suitable for trail and pleasure riding as well as endurance. They often excel in other disciplines. Cool Performance Horses have competed in dressage, 3-day, competitive trail, team penning, and hunters, both flat and over fences. Cool Performance Horses has trained several horses currently competing in endurance that consistently place in the top 10.

Prices

    Our prices reflect many considerations as well as the training the horse has received.

    Conditioning a horse for endurance and trail is a very expensive proposition and often risky as well. Our horses are fed well, shod regularly, and receive vet care whenever needed. They are kept in large pastures with shelters, and are exercised year round.

    Our prices start at $5,000 for trail horses and our endurance horses are usually $10,000 - $25,000. Seasoned endurance horses are always private treaty.
